SYMPTOMS
On a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, you receive the following Stop error message:
STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, parameter2 , parameter3 , parameter4 )
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Notes- Not all "STOP 0x0000007E" error messages are caused by the problem that is described in this article.
- The results of a Stop error may vary, depending on the computer's system failure settings.
- The parameter values in this error message may vary, depending on the computer's configuration. However, in this particular instance, the first parameter is always "C0000005."
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
