How to generate a statement of owner's equity in Small Business Accounting 2006 (906094)

Although Small Business Accounting does not have a report option that is named "Statement of Owner's Equity," you can obtain this information by using the Transaction Detail by Account report. To use this report to generate a statement of owner's equity, follow these steps:

1. On the Reports menu, point to Company and Financial, and then click Transaction Detail by Account.
2. In the Report Basis drop-down list, select the appropriate report, and then select the appropriate date range in the Date Range drop-down list.
3. On the Action menu, click Filter Options.
4. In the Select filter option pane, select Account.
5. In the Filter options pane, select Selected Accounts in the Options drop-down list.
6. In the Available options pane of the Select Accounts window, scroll through the list. Select the equity account that you want to include on the report, and then click Add to move the equity account to the Selected options pane.
7. Repeat step 6 for each additional equity account that you want to include on the report, and then click OK.
   
   Note You can select only five accounts in the Selected options pane. If you have more than five equity accounts, you must generate a separate report.
8. In the Select Filter Options window, click Apply, and then click OK to return to the report.
9. This step is optional. If you want to save this report together with the selected report basis, the date range, and the accounts, click Save Report As on the File menu.
10. In the Save Report window, type a name for this report, and then click OK.
