SYMPTOMS

When you run Sybari Antigen for Microsoft Exchange on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, you do not receive any notifications from Antigen. Additionally, the following error is logged in the ProgramLog.txt file:
Error: Unable to log into MAPI Profile.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Verify that a mail client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows Messaging, or Microsoft Exchange Event Service, is installed on the Exchange Server 5.5 server.

If a mail client is not installed, follow these steps:
    1. Remove Antigen.
    2. Install the mail client.
    3. Reinstall Antigen.
  2. Test to see whether you are receiving notifications. If you still do not receive notifications even though a mail client is installed on the server, create a new MAPI profile:
    1. Log on to the Exchange Server 5.5 server by using the service account that runs Exchange Server 5.5.
    2. Click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Mail, and then click Show Profiles.
    3. Click the Antigen profile, click Remove, and then click OK.

Repeat this step for each Antigen profile that appears.
    4. Double-click Mail, click Show Profiles, and then click Add.
    5. Add a new profile. Name the new profile "Antigen_servername", and then point this profile to the Antigen server mailbox.
    6. Log on to the profile that you created in step 2e by using a MAPI client, such as Microsoft Outlook.
    7. Verify that the profile works by sending an e-mail message to the Antigen_servername mailbox.
    8. Start the Sybari Client (SybariClient.exe).
    9. In Shuttle Navigator, click Reports, and then click Notification.
    10. Click Profile.
    11. Make sure that the profile that is listed matches the profile that you created in step 2e.
    12. Send an Eicar test virus to test whether you receive a notification. Alternatively, restart the Exchange services.
    13. Examine the ProgramLog.txt file to make sure that the "Error: Unable to log into MAPI Profile" error is not logged.
