This article describes the Microsoft Excel 2002 issue that is fixed in the Excel 2002 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that was initially released August 9, 2005, and then rereleased on September 6, 2005.

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Assume a situation where you use the AutoComplete feature with the Input Method Editor 2000 (IME) in Microsoft Excel 2002. Then, you run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro.

    In this situation, you receive the following error message if the VBA macro does certain worksheet manipulations:
    Run-time error '1004'
    Examples of worksheet manipulations include moving data, copying data, or making the worksheet visible.
