The custom paper size may change to a smaller size when you use certain printers in Publisher (904807)

SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Publisher publication that contains a custom page size, when you open the Custom Paper Size dialog box, the paper width and paper height settings may change to a smaller size than what had previously been set for the custom paper size.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
  • You use metric units to specify the custom page size. That is, you use millimeters (mm) to specify the custom page size.
  • You use one of the following printers in Publisher:
    • Canon i850
    • Canon i950
    • Epson PM-4000PX

RESOLUTION

There is currently no workaround or resolution to correct this problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

To specify a custom page size in Publisher 2003, follow these steps.

Note These steps may be different depending on your specific printer driver and on your version of Publisher.
  1. On the File menu, click Page Setup.
  2. In the Page Setup dialog box, click the Printer and Paper tab.
  3. Under Printer, click Properties.
  4. On the Page Setup tab, click Custom in the Page Size list.
  5. In the Custom Paper Size dialog box, specify the size of your custom page, and then click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the printer Properties dialog box.
  7. Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog box.
