FIX: The memory usage of the application may increase when an application accesses and then releases the IContact object in Windows CE 5.0 (904426)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE 5.0

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, an application may use the Microsoft Pocket Outlook Object Model (POOM) API. The application calls the IPOutlookItemCollection::Add method or the IPOutlookItemCollection::Item method to create or to reference an IContact object from the Contact folder. Then, the application releases the IContact object. In this scenario, the memory usage of the application may increase.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because memory that is allocated by the IContact object to store certain Contact properties is not released.
