You may receive a "costs for this transaction have been applied to a manufacturing job" error message when you enter a purchase order return in Microsoft Great Plains (904037)

SYMPTOMSYou may receive the following error message in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains:
"The costs for this transaction have been applied to a manufacturing job and won't be removed if you continue. Do you want to continue or cancel?" This symptom occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You enter a purchase order return in Purchase Order Processing.
- The purchase order return that you entered is linked to a specific job in the Manufacturing module.
CAUSEThe current purchase order return functionality of Microsoft Great Plains does not let you link to a specific job in the Manufacturing module.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, manually unapply the document in the Job Link Maintenance window. To do this, follow these steps: - When you receive the error message, click Continue.
- Click Transactions, click Manufacturing, and then click Job Link Maint.
- Click Linked Transaction, locate the document from the Linked Transaction list, and then right-click the document.
- Click Change, and then click Unapply.
- Close the window.
