Most of the user interface may not be localized after you install one or more Windows XP Professional MUI language software packages on a Windows Embedded for Point of Service-based device (903897)

SYMPTOMS

After you install one or more Microsoft Windows XP Professional Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) language software packages on a Microsoft Windows Embedded Point of Service (WEPOS) based device, most of the user interface may not be localized.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following files are missing from an installed MUI package:
  • Xpsp2res.dll
  • Xpsp1res.dll
  • Xpob2res.dll
These files are unique for each localization.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the required .dll files. Microsoft scanned these files for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the files were posted. The files are stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to the files.
