The cluster group of Microsoft Cluster Service may not fail over if the Shutvol.sys driver is installed in Windows Server 2003 (903223)

SYMPTOMS

If the IBM kernel driver (Shutvol.sys) is installed in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the cluster group of Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) may not fail over. Additionally, disk I/O operations may not be completed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, contact IBM.

The Shutvol.sys driver is not implemented as a filter driver. The Shutvol.sys driver does not appear on the stack of I/O request packets (IRP) or on the device stack.
