Word 2002 stops responding when you create a new e-mail message in Outlook 2002 (903218)

SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Word 2002 stops responding if one of the following conditions is true: - You create a new e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook 2002 with Word 2002 as the default e-mail editor.
- You open the Email.dot template in Word 2002.
CAUSEThis issue occurs when the Email.dot file is damaged.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, follow these steps: - Click Start, and then click Search.
- Click All files and folders.
- Type email.dot in the All or part of the file name box.
- Click Search.
- After the file is found, right-click Email.dot, and then click Rename.
- Type old_email.dot, and then press ENTER.
- Close the Search window.
- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
- In the Currently installed programs list, click your version of Microsoft Office XP, and then click Change.
- On the Maintenance Mode Options screen, click Repair Office, and then click Next.
- On the Reinstall or Repair Office installation screen, click Detect and Repair errors in my Office installation.
- Click to select the Restore my Start Menu Shortcuts check box, and then click Install.
- Click OK when the installation has completed successfully.
