INTRODUCTION

The use of virtual machines in Microsoft Business Solutions - Axapta non-production environments is supported. Currently, the use of virtual machines in Microsoft Axapta production environments is not supported. However, virtual machines can be used in Microsoft Axapta environments that are intended for development, for testing, or for demonstration.

When you deploy Microsoft Axapta with virtual machines, sufficient hardware is required to avoid performance issues. All individual virtual machines should meet or exceed memory and disk space requirements as if they were individual native computers.

Product support for Microsoft Axapta is provided as commercially reasonable support when the software is installed on a supported operating system that is running on a virtual machine. If you have a problem with Microsoft Axapta when it is running on a virtual machine, the problem can be escalated to the Microsoft Axapta product group for investigation only when the following conditions are true:
  • The problem cannot be resolved through the commercially reasonable support of Microsoft Product Support Services.
  • The problem is reproducible in Microsoft Axapta when the software is installed on a supported operating system that is not running on a virtual machine.

    Note Commercially reasonable support is all reasonable support that is provided by Microsoft Product Support Services that does not require Microsoft Axapta code fixes.
