SYMPTOMS

When you try to play a sound file in a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation, the sound file does not play. Additionally, you receive the following message: A license is required to play the selected content. To obtain the license, you must visit the content provider's Web page. The provider may require that you register or pay a fee for the license.

Web pages can contain elements that could be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that the content is from a trustworthy source before continuing. Are you sure you want to open the Web page to obtain the license?

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the sound file is copy-protected by Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM).

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods:
  • Obtain a copy of the sound file that is not copy-protected by DRM.
  • Click Yes to the message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. Then, obtain the license from the Web site from which the sound file was downloaded.
