When you try to upgrade to Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 with Service Pack 1 Administration Tools, you may be repeatedly prompted to insert the Live Communications Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) CD (903057)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try
to upgrade to Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 with Service Pack 1 Administration Tools, the upgrade process will repeatedly
prompt you to insert the Live Communications Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1) CD. This symptom occurs when one of the following conditions is true: - You try to upgrade a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer that has Windows XP installed.
- You try to upgrade a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer that has Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) installed.
CAUSEThis problem may occur because Microsoft Windows
Installer 3.1 is missing for Windows XP or for Windows 2000 SP4. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:
- Method 1
Install Windows Installer 3.1 on the
computer. Make sure that you install this program before you upgrade the Administrator Tools.

Windows Installer 3.1, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

If
you cannot update the Windows Installer, use Method 2 or Method 3. - Method 2
Copy the Administrator Tools setup files to a
local folder or to a network share, and then run the Setup program. - Method 3
Uninstall the Live Communications Server 2005 Administrator Tools. Then,
install the Live Communications Server 2005 with Service Pack1 Administration Tools.
