In Windows XP, extended features for a Novell iPrint printer are still unavailable after you apply the hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base article 884897 (902933)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

After you apply the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 884897, extended features are still not available in the Print Preferences dialog box for a Novell iPrint printer. For more information about this hotfix, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

884897 Print features, such as the watermarks feature, the n-up printing feature, and the collate feature, do not work if you print to a Novell, to an IPP, or to another partial print provider in Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003

CAUSE

This issue occurs if an early version of the Novell iPrint client was used to create the printer on a Windows XP-based computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Apply the hotfix that is described in Knowledge Base article 884897 if you have not already done this.
  2. Install Novell iPrint Client 4.05.
  3. Remove and then reinstall the printer on the Windows XP-based computer.
