A rule to copy a message from the Inbox folder to a subfolder does not work after you register a synchronous store event sink in Exchange Server 2003 (902339)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
SYMPTOMSAfter you register a synchronous store event sink on the Inbox folder, a rule to copy a message from the Inbox folder to a subfolder does not work. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true: - You registered a synchronous store event sink on the Inbox folder to modify the subject of new incoming messages.
- You configured a rule that moves a copy of a message to a subfolder if the message meets a certain condition. For example, the rule might move a copy of the message to a subfolder if your name is in the To line or in the Cc line of that message.
When these conditions are true, the synchronous store event sink runs successfully. However, the rule to copy the message to a subfolder does not work.
This problem only occurs if you create a rule to copy the messages that meet the condition. This problem does not occur if you create a rule to move these messages. Additionally, all the following events are logged in the Application log. Event 1033
