The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2000 Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Visio 2000 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you print a drawing in Microsoft Visio 2000, the drawing is not printed to the printer that you specify. Instead, the drawing is printed to the default printer.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • When you print the drawing in Visio 2000, you specify a printer that is not the default printer.
  • Microsoft Visio 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is installed on the computer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, quit Visio 2000. Then, change the Microsoft Windows default printer to the printer that you want to use in Visio 2000.

To change the Windows default printer, follow these steps.

Note These steps assume that you already have the printer that you want to use installed in Windows.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
  2. Right-click the printer that you want to set as the Windows default printer. Then, click Set as Default Printer.
  3. On the File menu, click Close to close the Printers and Faxes window.
