You may receive a "Your video card or drivers are not compatible with Media Center" error message when you start Media Center in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (902166)

SYMPTOMS
On a Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based computer, you open a Command Prompt window and then press ALT+ENTER to switch the window to full-screen mode. When you use the remote to start Media Center, you may receive the following error message:
Your video card or drivers are not compatible with Media Center.
Note MS-DOS-based programs use the ALT+ENTER keyboard shortcut to switch between full-screen mode and windowed mode.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the Command Prompt window uses the system VGA graphics driver. This driver is not compatible with Media Center.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, close the Command Prompt window, or press ALT+ENTER to switch out of full-screen mode. Then, start Media Center.
