The whole paragraph appears in strikethrough formatting even if you only insert or delete one word when you compare the posting revision history for Chinese content in Content Management Server 2002 (901273)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Content Management Server 2002

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002, when you compare the posting revision history for Chinese content, the whole paragraph appears in strikethrough formatting even if you only insert or delete one word. Therefore, you cannot determine the word that was inserted or deleted.

Note This issue does not occur with English content.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Chinese language characters are not delimited. Therefore, when MCMS performs revision history, MCMS cannot identify the string tokens for the Chinese language paragraph. This behavior causes the whole paragraph to appear in strikethrough formatting.
