You receive a "You must enter a number between 0,00 and 100 000 000 000,00" error message or the value in the Actual Revenue column of a closed opportunity is 10 times more than you expect in Microsoft CRM (901199)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

When you view a closed opportunity in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, you experience one of the following symptoms:
  • The value that appears in the Actual Revenue column is ten times more than the actual revenue for that opportunity.
  • You receive the following error message when you try to open the closed opportunity:
    You must enter a number between 0,00 and 100 000 000 000,00.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Microsoft CRM server uses a Regional Options setting that specifies a European number format. The European number format uses a comma (,) as the decimal symbol. This problem occurs because the Closed Opportunities form does not correctly handle a comma as the decimal symbol.

Additionally, if you use the French (France) language locale with the (# ###,00) number format defined in CRM System Settings, you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

904435 Update Rollup 2 is available for Microsoft CRM 1.2
