Files that you copy to a Windows 2000-based server may become corrupted (901145)

SYMPTOMS

When you copy files to a Microsoft Windows 2000-based server that is under heavy stress, the files may become corrupted. However, the performance of the server does not decrease.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the server cannot respond to a server message block (SMB) within the time-out period. This period is set by the SessTimeout registry entry.

RESOLUTION

Use the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to solve this problem:
