FIX: Physical memory usage increases for multithreaded applications in SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services (900716)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the OLE DB for OLAP provider in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, physical memory usage increases for multithreaded applications. Physical memory usage increases as the number of threads that are using the provider increases.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
