SUMMARY
This update lets you use the Wireless Network Setup Wizard to configure a dual-band wireless access point in Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2).MORE INFORMATION
A dual-band wireless access point can transmit on two wireless bands at the same time. For example, a dual-band access point may be useful if you want to increase bandwidth on a network by using a dual-band wireless router. You can use one band for computers, PDAs, and other devices. You can use the other band for a Media Center Extender for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. This configuration gives the Media Center Extender all the bandwidth of one band. You can then move large files over the other band without affecting streaming video over the Media Center network. Before you apply this update, the Network Setup Wizard only configures one access point after a user uses the Wireless Network Setup Wizard to set up a dual-band router. After you apply this update, the Wireless Network Setup Wizard configures both of the access points.
