FIX: The size of the notification database increases every time that a soft reset is performed on a device that is running Windows CE 5.0 (898069)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE 5.0

SYMPTOMS

The size of the notification database on a device that is running Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 increases by several entries every time that a soft reset is performed on the device. These additional entries are never removed.

CAUSE

The time service in Windows CE 5.0 adds notification entries for the daylight saving time change when the service initializes. However, the service does not verify whether an entry already exists. This behavior causes the service to create duplicate entries.
