You receive an error message that states that the program did not start because the Ltkrn13n.dll file could not be found when you start Works 7.0 (897883)

When you start Microsoft Works 7.0, you may receive an error message that states that the program did not start because the Ltkrn13n.dll file could not be found.CAUSE
This problem may occur if you previously removed Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office Trial 2003 from the computer.
The problem occurs because the remove routine of Office 2003 incorrectly removes the Ltkrn13n.dll file. The Ltkern13n.dll file is required by Works 7.0.RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, rename the existing WkImging.dll file that is installed on the computer, and then repair Works 7.0.
Rename the WkImging.dll file- Click Start, click Run, type CMD in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Type Ren "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\WkImging.dll" WkImging.old, and then press ENTER.
Note You can also use Microsoft Windows Explorer to rename the WkImging.dll file. However, because the WkImging.dll file is a hidden file, the file will not appear in the search results listing until you click to select the Show hidden files and folders check box. To rename the WkImging.dll file by using Windows Explorer, follow these steps. Note The following steps are not required if you can rename the WkImging.dll file by using the Command prompt window as described in the previous steps.
- Double-click My Computer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- Click the View tab.
- Click to select the Show hidden files and folders check box, and then click OK.
- Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
- In the All or part of the file name box, type WkImging.dll.
- In the Look in list, select the local hard disk, and then click Search.
The following folder is the default location of the WkImging.dll file:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\ - Right-click the WkImging.dll file, and then click Rename.
- Type WkImging.old, and then press ENTER.
Repair Works 7.0- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
- In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Works.
- Click Change, and then click Next.
- When the Options window appears, click Reinstall, and then click Next.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the repair of Works 7.0.
Note Depending on how Works 7.0 was installed on the computer, you may or may not be prompted for the original source files that were used to install Works 7.0. For example, if Works 7.0 was installed on the computer by the original manufacturer, the source files may be on your computer's hard disk. In this scenario, you will not be prompted for the original source files. However, if you installed Works 7.0 from a CD or from a DVD, you may be prompted to insert that disc into the computer's optical CD or DVD drive. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
