INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to enter time sheets in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting (SBA) so that the time is correctly provisioned to ADP Payroll.

MORE INFORMATION

After you sign up for ADP Payroll, and after you enter the detailed information for your company and the employee payroll, you can enter time sheets in Small Business Accounting. The time sheets that you enter in Small Business Accounting are provisioned to ADP when you run payroll.

To enter time sheets, follow these steps:
  1. In Small Business Accounting, click the Employees menu, and then click New Timesheet.
  2. Select an employee from the Employee name box.
  3. In the Calendar area, select the correct calendar week in the Select week box if the correct calendar week is not already selected.
  4. If applicable, click to select the Billable check box. Then, enter the correct information in the Customer box, the Billing item box, the Job box, and the Description box.
  5. Select a type in the Pay Type box.

Note If you do not select a type in the Pay Type box, no hours are provisioned to ADP Payroll for the employee. Or, ADP Payroll may use the standard hours that are set up in the ADP Employee Payroll dialog box.
  6. Enter the hours for the employee for the week that is displayed.
  7. Click Save and Close.
Any Small Business Accounting time sheets that exist for a pay period are automatically provisioned to ADP Payroll when that pay period is initiated in ADP Payroll. When standard hours are set up for an employee, and the employee has a time sheet for that pay period, the standard hours are overwritten by the hours from the time sheet.

Existing Small Business Accounting time sheets are only provisioned to ADP Payroll the first time that the pay period is opened in ADP Payroll. Time sheets that you create and time that you enter in Small Business Accounting are not provisioned to ADP Payroll for a pay period that is already opened.
