SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Provisioning System 2.0, the following event is logged in the application event log every 15 to 60 seconds on a server that is running the Provisioning Audit and Recovery Service component:Source: Provisioning Audit and Recovery Service

Computer: MPS01
Description:
Error occurred while moving records to the audit log database. SQL server reported errors: Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

If you are concerned about the event log filling with auditing errors, you can disable Error Auditing. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to the Microsoft Provisioning System server (MPS01) by using an account that is a member of the domain administrators group.
  2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft Provisioning Server, and then click Provisioning Manager.
  3. Expand the Provisioning Servers node.
  4. Right-click the Provisioning Engines node, and then click Properties.
  5. Click the General tab, and then double-click Audit Level.
  6. Click to clear the following audit level check boxes:
    • Transactions with Errors
    • Aborted transactions
    • Errors
    • Aborted Procedures
    • Failed Procedures
  7. Click OK, click Apply, and then click OK.
Note If you have already followed these steps before you apply this hotfix, reenable Error Auditing so that any errors that occur in the future will be logged. To reenable Error Auditing, follow these steps, but in step 6, click to select the audit level check boxes that are listed.
