Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • After you change a document that is contained in a document library on a server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services, subscribed members of the document library do not receive a message that informs them that the document has been changed.

This issue may occur after you install the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated December 14, 2004.

  • You use the STSAdm tool to restore a backup of the server that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services to a new site. After the backup and the restore operations are completed, all the URLs, including the absolute URLs, that are contained in a Content Editor Web Part are incorrectly updated to include the URL of the new site.

Note Absolute URLs should not be updated to include the new site when you restore your backup.
