- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
SYMPTOMSThe Caller ID-capable modem may not display Caller ID information in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. For example, the Caller ID information may not
be displayed on the screen when the Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition-based computer receives a telephone call. This symptom occurs even if
a Caller ID-capable modem is installed in the Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition-based computer. CAUSEThis issue occurs because the Universal Modem driver is not a TAPI-compliant Caller ID device driver. The Universal Modem driver that is installed by Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition Setup is not a TAPI-compliant Caller ID device driver. The driver

enabled testing. However, the Caller ID functionality does not work correctly in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 because there is no TAPI
support.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue and enable the Caller ID functionality, you must have the following items: - A Caller ID-capable modem that supports TAPI.

Advanced.
