Money 2005 stops responding or quits when you open the Money 2005 home page (897037)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, make sure that you have the latest updates for Money 2005 installed on your computer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open the Microsoft Money Sample file. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Quit Money 2005.
   2. Click Start, click Search, and then click All Files and Folders.
   3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Sample.mny.
   4. On the Look in menu, select the drive where Money 2005 is installed. By default, Money 2005 is installed in drive C.
   5. Click Search.
   6. Locate and then double-click the Sample.mny file to start Money.
2. When you are prompted to download the Money 2005 updates, click Yes. If you are not prompted to download the Money 2005 updates, follow these steps:
   1. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
   2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Updates, and then click Update Now.
   3. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to update Money 2005.
3. After the updates are installed, restart Money 2005, and then confirm that you have the latest updates for Money 2005. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Money.
   2. Verify that the Money 2005 version number is 14.0.x.1105 or a later version number, where "x" identifies the specific Money 2005 product. For example, 120 is Microsoft Money Deluxe and 150 is the Microsoft Money Small Business.
4. After you confirm that the latest updates are installed for Money 2005, open your Money data file. To do this, click the name of your Money file on the File menu.
