SYMPTOMS

When you run the sp_GetRemoteServerName stored procedure in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Msg 7403, Level 16, State 1, Server servername, Line 2 Could not locate registry entry for OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL'. OLE DB error trace [Non-interface error: Provider not registered.].
Note In this error message, servername is a placeholder for the name of the instance of Microsoft SQL Server.

For example, you may receive this error message when you run the sp_BackupAllFullSchedule stored procedure. The sp_BackupAllFullSchedule stored procedure calls the sp_GetRemoteServerName stored procedure.

This problem occurs when SQL Server is installed on a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
