Your assigned tasks may not appear when you connect to Office Project Server 2003 by using Office Project Web Access (895508)

SYMPTOMS

Some of your assigned tasks may not appear when you connect to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 by using Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when one or more of the following conditions are true:
  • The value in the Booking type box of the team resource is set to Proposed.
  • A team resource is a local resource instead of an enterprise resource.
  • The value in the Workgroup box of the resource has been changed. For example, the value in the Workgroup box of the resource has been changed to None.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods, depending on your situation.

Method 1: Change the value in the Booking type box to Committed

To change the value in the Booking type box to Committed, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003 or Microsoft Office Project Standard 2003, and then open the project plan.

    Note Make sure you are logged on as an administrator or as a project manager.
  2. On the Project Guide toolbar, click Resources.
  3. In the Resources task pane, click Specify the booking types for resources.
  4. Click the resource that you want to change, and then click Commit resources.
  5. In the Resource booking type task pane, click Done.
  6. Save the project plan, and then republish it.

Method 2: Make the team resource an enterprise resource

To make the team resource an enterprise resource, follow these steps:
  1. Start Project Professional 2003 or Project Standard 2003, and then open the project plan.

    Note Make sure you are logged on as an administrator or as a project manager.
  2. On the Project Guide toolbar, click Resources.
  3. In the Resources task pane, click Specify people and equipment for the project.
  4. Select the row that contains the resource that you want to make an enterprise resource.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Copy Resource.
  6. On the Tools menu, point to Enterprise Options, and then click Open Enterprise Resource Pool.
  7. Click Open/Add.
  8. Click the row where you want to add the global resource, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
  9. On the File menu, click Save.
  10. Click OK to validate the enterprise resource.
  11. On the File menu, click Close.
  12. In the Resources task pane, click Specify people and equipment for the project.
  13. In the Specify Resources task pane, click Add resources from Project Server.
  14. Click Build Team from Project Server.
  15. Under Enterprise Resource, click the enterprise resource that you want, and then click Add.
  16. Click OK.
  17. Save the project plan, and then republish it.

Method 3: Change the value in the Workgroup box of the resource

To change the value in the Workgroup box of the resource, follow these steps:
  1. Start Project Professional 2003 or Project Standard 2003, and then open the project plan.

    Note Make sure you are logged on as an administrator or as a project manager.
  2. On the Project Guide toolbar, click Resources.
  3. In the Resources task pane, click Specify people and equipment for the project.
  4. Double-click the resource that you want to change.
  5. In the Workgroup box, click either Default or Microsoft Office Project Server.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Save the project plan, and then republish it.
