A Windows Media Audio sound file does not play continuously in a PowerPoint 2003 presentation (894895)

SYMPTOMS

When you play a Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA) sound file in a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation, the sound file stops playing after playing only one time. The sound file does not play continuously.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when all the following conditions are true:
  • The Loop until stopped option is selected.

    Note To select the Loop until stopped option for the WMA sound file in your PowerPoint 2003 presentation, right-click the sound object, and then click Edit Sound Object.
  • The WMA sound file is copy-protected with Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM).

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, obtain a copy of the WMA sound file that is not copy-protected with Digital Rights Management.

RESOLUTION
