INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to increase the screen resolution of uploaded Microsoft PowerPoint slides in Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2005.

MORE INFORMATION

The default screen resolution for uploaded PowerPoint slides in a Live Meeting session is 704 pixels wide by 528 pixels tall. This may cause text and graphics that were created for a greater screen resolution to appear blocky or jagged. The Snapshot Slide feature of Live Meeting can capture your slides at their full-screen resolution in Microsoft PowerPoint.

To create a Snapshot slide, follow these steps:
  1. In the Live Meeting Presentation panel, click the slide that you want to insert the new slides after.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Snapshot slide. The Snapshot slide frame appears.
  3. Start PowerPoint.
  4. Click Open on the File menu and open the presentation you want to use.
  5. Locate the slide that you want to capture at full-screen resolutions, and then press SHIFT + F5.

This starts a slide show with the current slide as the first slide shown.
  6. Drag the Snapshot frame to position it on the screen. You can change the size of the Snapshot frame by dragging the corners of the frame. If you want the frame to cover the screen, click Maximize on the upper-right corner of the frame.
  7. Click the Camera icon on the Snapshot frame title bar. The slide is inserted in the slide set, and the Snapshot slide appears in the Presenter Console.

The first Snapshot slide that you create is identified as Snapshot A. The next Snapshot slide is identified as Snapshot B, and so on. You can rename these slides.
  8. Repeat steps 5 through 6 to create other Snapshot slides.
  9. Close the Snapshot frame.

Because the Snapshot slide is saved in a larger resolution, the file size for this kind of slide can be much larger than a typical uploaded slide. However, this larger resolution causes the slide to load more slowly during the meeting. This is especially true for those attendees that are using a slower connection.
