SYMPTOMS
When you try to run an application that uses the Microsoft SOAP Toolkit 3.0-based Web service to send a byte array attachment, the attachment may not be sent, and you may receive the following error message:
Server:loading the request into the SOAP reader failed.
hresults=0x80070057
The parameter is incorrect.
Server: one of the parameters supplied is invalid.
hresults=0x80070057
You experience this problem when the following conditions are true:
- You use Direct Internet Message Encapsulation (DIME) to send the attachment.
- The attachment is one of the following sizes:
- The Web service is
set for anonymous authentication.
Note This problem does not occur when the attachment is smaller than or larger than the specified size.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft SOAP Toolkit service pack that contains this hotfix.
