SYMPTOMS

When you try to load a saved game in Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3: Battle for Europe, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • The game does not load and you receive the following error message:
    Invalid Character was found in text Content error on line 1187 position 39
  • The game is not in the list of saved games.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the saved game is damaged or corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods and then restart the game:
  • In Microsoft Windows Explorer, delete the saved games that are in the pilots folder that is located in the following folder:

    C:\My Documents\Combat Flight Simulator 3\Campaigns\Save Games

  • In Windows Explorer, rename the C:\My Documents\Combat Flight Simulator 3 folder to C:\My Documents\CFS3.
