Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

Text is not pasted in the box that contains the Rich-Text formatting toolbar

You experience this problem when you follow these steps:
  1. You create a new list item or you modify an existing list item in your Windows SharePoint Services Web site.
  2. You copy some text.
  3. You click Paste on the Edit menu in Microsoft Internet Explorer to paste the text in the box that contains the Rich-Text formatting toolbar.

Note The name of the box depends on the type of list item that you are working with. For example, the name of the box is Description for tasks, and the name of the box is Body for announcements.
The text is not pasted in the box. You experience this symptom if the following conditions are true:
  • You do not click a button on the Rich-Text formatting toolbar in the box before you click Paste on the Edit menu to try to paste the contents of the clipboard in the box.
  • The box does not contain any text.
If you press CTRL+V instead of clicking Paste, the text is pasted to the box.

You receive an error message when you try to open or modify a personal view of a list

When you follow either of the procedures that follow, you receive an error message in Windows SharePoint Services.
  1. You create a personal view of a list.
  2. You connect to the list.
  3. You click the name of the personal view in the Select a View area of the ListName Web page.

You cannot open the personal view of the list, and you receive the following error message:
No such field name No field was found with that name. Check the name, and try again.
  1. You click Modify settings and columns in the Actions area of the ListName Web page.
  2. You click the name of the personal view in the Customize ListName Web page.
  3. You cannot modify or delete the personal view, and you receive the following error message:
Value does not fall within the expected range
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  1. You create a personal view of a list. Besides the title, the list contains one or more columns that store information.
  2. Another user connects to the list and then deletes one of the columns in the list.
