SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002, Web sites may appear to slow down and to stop processing requests when you configure an additional entry point in the Server Configuration Application (SCA). This problem occurs when you have lots of Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS) Web sites that are configured as MCMS entry points. Typically, the performance problem occurs when there are more than 60 entry points.

Additionally, you may also receive a "Page cannot be displayed" error message in the SCA.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a performance issue in the MCMS API when the SCA reloads the settings from the registry.
