Animals in Zoo Tycoon may die of starvation even though the animals have enough food (894032)
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you create an animal exhibit in Microsoft Zoo Tycoon, the animals in the exhibit may die of starvation even though the animals have enough food.CAUSEThis issue occurs if one or more of the following conditions are true: - You create a zoo that has
one zoo keeper and more than one exhibit. If you assign the zoo keeper to only one exhibit, the animals in the other exhibits may starve.
- You create an exhibit and put the exhibit gates in an area that the zoo keeper cannot access. When you create an exhibit, the gate is the last thing that
is created. If the gate is created too close to a wall or to a fence, the zoo keeper may
not be able access the exhibit and feed the animals.
- You create an animal exhibit for a water animal and the gate is located on water.
For example, if you create an alligator or a penguin exhibit and the
gate is located on a water section and not located on a land section of the exhibit, the Zoo Keeper
cannot walk across the water to access the gate. When this happens, the animal may starve.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, make sure that the gate is located on land and that the zoo keeper can access the gate when you create an animal exhibit.
If the exhibit gate is built in an area that the zoo keeper cannot access, or if the exhibit gate is located on water, you must remove the gate and
sections of the fence. Then, you must rebuild the fence so that the zoo keeper can access the exhibit gate by land.
Additionally, make sure that you assign a zoo keeper to the exhibit so that the animals are not ignored.
