How to view the upgrade report after the Setup program finishes installing Windows XP (893654)

INTRODUCTION

You may want to view the upgrade report after you upgrade the operating system on your computer to Microsoft Windows XP. The upgrade report reveals compatibility issues that exist between Windows XP and the hardware and software in your computer. The upgrade report is written by the Windows XP Upgrade Advisor program.

To view the upgrade report after the Windows XP Setup program finishes, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Explore.
  2. In the right pane, double-click Local Disk (C:).
  3. Double-click the %system root% folder. Typically, this folder is named Windows.
  4. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, click the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.
  5. In the right pane, double-click Upgrade.htm. The upgrade report will open.
