Group policies are not applied to a computer that has Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 installed (893627)

SYMPTOMS

When the User Configuration in the Group Policy object for a domain contains both Internet Explorer Maintenance and Folder Redirection folders, group policies may not be applied to new user accounts on client computers that have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed.

Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.   10. Type FeatureControl, and then press ENTER. If this subkey already exists, go to the next step.
  11. Click FeatureControl.
  12. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.

Activating this hotfix changes the file location that Internet Explorer uses to process the Group Policy objects. This hotfix changes the file location in the following way:

The locations of the Brndlog.txt file and the Rsoplog.txt file are based on which Application Data folder is being used to process the Group Policy object.
