SYMPTOMS

If you send a Microsoft Office Word 2003 document that contains an ink annotation as the body of an e-mail message and the recipient opens the e-mail message, the ink annotation may not be in the correct location in the text.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when you send the Word 2003 document by pointing to Send To on the File menu, and then tap Mail Recipient on a Table PC.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, send the Word 2003 document as an e-mail attachment. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the Word 2003 document.
  2. Insert the ink annotation.
  3. Save and close your Word 2003 document.
  4. In an e-mail program such as Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, insert the file as an attachment in your e-mail message. To insert the file as an attachment in an e-mail message in Outlook 2003, follow these steps:
    1. Open your e-mail message.
    2. On the Insert menu, click File.
    3. Select the Word 2003 document that contains your ink annotation.
    4. Click the down-arrow on the Insert button, and then click Insert as Attachment.
  5. Send your e-mail message to the recipient.
