INTRODUCTION
This article describes the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 issue that is fixed in the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated February 7, 2005.
back to the topIssue that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was previously not documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- File types which should not be included in the index are temporarily copied to the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 temporary folder when SharePoint Portal Server 2003 crawls a content source.
When crawling a content source, SharePoint Portal Server 2003 encounters files that have file name extensions that are not included in the Specify File Types to Include list in the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 search configuration pages (filetypes.aspx). When SharePoint Portal Server 2003 crawls the content source, files are temporarily copied to the following folder, even though the file name extension of the file is not listed to be included:Drive:\Program Files\SharePoint Portal Server\Data\Temp\Spsgthrsvc
After you apply this hotfix, file types that are not listed are not copied to the server.
