FIX: You receive a event ID 5743 message when you use the BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries 2.0 to send messages to an IBM MQSeries server (893370)

SYMPTOMS

When the destination queue on an IBM MQSeries server is full, the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries 2.0 may not send messages to the destination queue as expected. You may receive a Warning event message in the Event Viewer that is similar to the following: Event Type: Warning Event Source: BizTalk Server 2004 Event Category: BizTalk Server 2004 Event ID: 5743 Description: The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port "sendportname". It will be retransmitted after the retry interval specified for this Send Port. Details: "Unknown Error Description ". When this problem occurs, you do not receive an error message. The message appears as Active in the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Health and Activity Tracking (HAT) tool. Additionally, a delivery notification for the failed transmission is not transmitted.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next BizTalk Adapter for MQSeries 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

After you apply this hotfix, an error message that is similar to the following appears in the Event Viewer when the destination queue is full: Event Type: Error Event Source: BizTalk Server 2004 Event Category: BizTalk Server 2004 Event ID: 5754 Description: The "MQSeries" adapter is suspending an outbound message going to destination URL:"portname". Details: "Error encountered on Queue.put Queue name = queuename Reason code = 2053.".Note In this error message, portname is the name of the send port. Additionally, queuename is the name of the destination queue.
