FIX: An access violation occurs in Comsvcs.dll when you run a COM+ application on a Windows 2000-based computer (892349)

SYMPTOMS

When you start a Microsoft COM+ application on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, an access violation may occur in Comsvcs.dll. No event is logged in Event Viewer when this problem occurs.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Comsvcs.dll may not correctly initialize a critical section. The access violation occurs when the system tries to delete this improperly initialized critical section.

RESOLUTION
