STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

You may experience this issue when you use LCE publishers and subscribers or COM+ system events. The EventSystem service in Svchost.exe tracks LCE publications and subscriptions on the computer. When an LCE publisher starts, it registers an ICollectionNotify interface with the EventSystem service. When a new subscriber for that publisher registers with the EventSystem service, the service calls the ICollectionNotify interface to inform the publisher. The EventSystem service stores the ICollectionNotify interface in a map. This issue is caused by a memory leak in a map list element.
