SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), when you open a Web page that contains an ActiveX control by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1), the shortcut menu for the ActiveX control does not display.

Note Disabling the security features in Internet Explorer does not change this behavior and the shortcut menu for the ActiveX control still does not display.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Internet Explorer does not forward calls to the ActiveX control by using the IDocHostUIHandler::ShowContextMenu method.
