INTRODUCTION

The Systems Management Server 2003 Toolkit 2 documentation contains incorrect information about the Site Boundary command-line tool (SiteBoun.exe). This article contains corrected information about how to use this tool.

MORE INFORMATION

The Systems Management Server 2003 Toolkit 2 documentation describes how to use switches with the Site Boundary command-line tool. These switches include the following:
  • -S
  • -E
  • -I
  • -A
  • -X
  • -U:<UserName>
  • -U:<password>
  • -T:SITEBOUN
  • -T:LOCALROAMING
  • -T:REMOTEROAMING
You cannot combine the -E switch, the -I switch, the -A switch, or the -X switch on the same command line. However, you can use any one of these switches with the -S switch.

The description of the -U switch may imply that you must use this switch two times to designate the user name and the password. The following example illustrates how to correctly use the -U switch:

-U:UserName password

You must separate the user name and the password with a space. The -U switch is not described when you type siteboun.exe /? at a command prompt.

The Type description in the Usage section of the Site Boundary tool documentation is incorrect. The following is the correct Type description:
Type	: Optional, defines the boundary type Detail, defaults to "IP Subnets", if not specified.
The other types are "AD Site Name" and "IP Ranges".
