You may receive error messages when you try to upgrade your current Windows operating system to Windows XP (891891)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to upgrade your current Microsoft Windows operating system to Microsoft Windows XP, the upgrade process is not completed. Additionally, you may receive the following error messages during the upgrade process: Migration DLL c:\windows\setup\temp\dll000xx\migrate.dll through an exception in migratesystem9x. The dll will not be processed. The upgrade pack Microsoft WIA failed in migratesystem9x with error code 998. Setup cannot process this pack. CAUSEThis issue may occur if your current Windows operating system is running third-party software programs that are incompatible with Windows XP. These programs may include CD writer and antivirus software programs. When you try to upgrade your current Windows operating system to Windows XP, these third-party software programs may interrupt the Windows XP upgrade process, and errors may occur.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, remove the third-party software programs that are incompatible with Windows XP from the current Windows operating system. Then restart the installation.
