My Documents and Shared Documents folders are not available in the Add Folders Wizard of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (891419)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Add Folders Wizard to add video or pictures to My Pictures or to My Videos in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, the My Documents and Shared Documents folders are not listed for selection. You cannot add the My Documents and Shared Documents folders for monitoring in My Pictures or in My Videos.

Note You can add the My Documents and Shared Documents folders for monitoring in My Music.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, move your videos or pictures from the My Documents folder or from the Shared Documents folder to the My Pictures or to the My Videos folder. These folders are located in the My Documents folder and are automatically monitored by Windows XP Media Center.

Note You can also use another folder that is available for selection in the Add Folders Wizard. For example, create a folder that is similar to the following:

C:\Pictures and Videos

Then, use the Add Folders Wizard to select the folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
