You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to open the C:\Minint\Smsosd folder on the destination computer (891349)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003
SYMPTOMSIn Systems Management Server 2003, you want to see the log files that are stored in the C:\Minint\Smsosd\Osdlogs folder on the destination computer so that you can troubleshoot a problem. However, if you first try to open the C:\Minint\Smsosd folder, you receive the following error message: C:\MININT\SMSOSD is not accessible. Access is
denied.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when your user account does not
have sufficient permissions to gain access to the C:\Minint\Smsosd
folder. Currently, only members of the local Administrators group can gain access to this
folder.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, open the C:\Minint\Smsosd folder by using a user account that is a member of
the local Administrators group.
Note Users who are not members of the local Administrators group can open the C:\Minint\Smsosd\Osdlogs folder by going directly to it. However, they cannot first open the C:\Minint\Smsosd folder.STATUS This
behavior is by design.
